Community Publications

Des Moines Register Community Publications are at the heart of our local news strategy. Eight different community sections provide high quality localized news to readers, plus targeted and affordable advertising options for local businesses.

Community publications are a great addition to advertising campaigns, as they provide expanded market coverage and can reach non-subscribers.

Subscriber & Non-Subsriber Options

Each community register is published and distributed to subscribers in the daily Des Moines Register on Tuesdays and Fridays. In addition, non-subscribers receive their local community register on Tuesdays.

Tuesday: Community registers are included in the home-delivered and single copy papers. Also, community registers are mailed or carrierdelivered to non-subscribers in targeted geographies. This unduplicated combination yields 85% coverage of households. Both subscribers and non-subscribers receive all 3 leading grocery circulars on Tuesdays.

Friday: Subscribers and single-copy papers include the community register packed with more local news and events heading into the weekend.

Every Tuesday Register Media delivers our zoned community sections to subscribers and non-subscribers across the market, and every Friday to our subscribers. This distribution offers print advertisers the ability to target specefic zones or blanket coverage across much of Central Iowa in an affordable way.
